Waukesha South soccer coach Enrique Camacho is one of U.S. Cellular's Top 50 nominees for the Most Valuable Coach Award program, selected from a nationwide pool of nominees.

Camacho is listed with his fellow nominees on TheMostValuableCoach.com and will continue to be in the running for a $50,000 donation to a choice charity or his athletics department, a trip to Orlando, Florida, and recognition during the Under Armour High School All-American Game.

The program aims to honor high-school coaches leading by example, strengthening their teams and giving back to the community. The public can vote for Camacho until 11:59 a.m. Oct. 9 at the website, and the top 15 selections will advance to the final round of voting.

U.S. Cellular will award each of the final 15 nominees with a $5,000 check to their home school, in addition to hosting a local celebratory event and creating a short video to share the coach's story.

Along with the online public voting, a panel of judges highlighted by Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner will determine the winner among the final 15, and the winner will be announced Nov. 20.

Waukesha South soccer, which has traditionally struggled in the Classic 8, made noise earlier this year when it battled two-time reigning league champion Arrowhead to a zany 8-8 tie
